What Will Your Impact Be in 2025?

Did you know that 2025 marks a very special milestone? 50 years of NAIDOC!

The 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.

Officially starting back in 1975, NAIDOC Week began as "a movement for recognition and rights, sparked by Indigenous communities who saw a future built on justice and equality". Every year since, it has gotten bigger and bigger, as mob and allies celebrate the continuing strength of our people.

Fast forward 50 years and where are we at? The NAIDOC theme this year highlights Strength, Vision and Legacy; powerful words that challenge us as educators and teachers, to reflect on the ground-work we are laying now for the next generation of leaders and change-makers.

"This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate not just a milestone but a movement that endures, grows, and evolves—driven by the unwavering strength of our communities, the shared vision of our people, and the enduring legacy we pass on to those who will shape our future. Together, we walk forward, honoring where we've come from and looking boldly to the next generation who will carry NAIDOC and their communities into the future."

Our questions for the teachers and educators of 2025:
What impact will you make in your classroom this year?
How will you foster spaces of inclusion?
How will you approach First Nations education for the benefit of all students?

At Riley Callie Resources, it is our mission to assist teachers and educators on this journey. How can we help? This year we are running a range of online First Nations-led training opportunities we hope you will join us for. Each session covers a different topic we know will assist you with your journey to creating more inclusive learning environments where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and perspectives are celebrated.

We have highlighted below some upcoming events and key resources for 2025.

The Healing Foundation’s Stolen Generations Resource Kit for Teachers and Students has been created to educate young people about the Stolen Generations. It makes it easy for school communities to start the conversation and inform classroom discussions using facts, real examples and stories.

This teaching resource has been developed to introduce students from Foundation to Year 9 to the firsthand experiences of Stolen Generations members.
