Janigun (At the Beach) is a colourful First Nations board book created by Mabu Yawuru Ngan-ga, the Yawuru language centre based in Rubibi (Broome), with illustrations by award-winning Yawuru artist Brenton E. McKenna.
The word Janigun means “at the beach” in Yawuru, and this engaging board book introduces babies and young children to the things they might see and discover at the beach.
From seagulls and red jellyfish to shy hermit crabs and other beach and ocean life, children can explore a colourful parade of Australian coastal life while beginning to learn words in the Yawuru language alongside English.
